Andrew Lupton grew up in the U.S. on the side of a mountain in western North Carolina. He met his wife, Laura Kate, at Campbell University while playing mud volleyball. After realizing that mud volleyball would never materialize into a career, Andrew studied international business and later went on to earn a Masters of Business Administration. After receiving his Masters in Business he and his wife Laura Kate moved to St. Louis where Andrew earned a Masters of Divinity Degree from Covenant Theological Seminary.

Andrew is a graduate of Covenant College in Chattanooga, TN and Covenant Seminary in St. Louis, where he also met and married his wife Kelly. He first sensed his call to student ministry while working at Ridge Haven Christian summer camp, where he also met Andrew Lupton. After college, and before seminary, Andrew worked as a director of middle school student ministries at a church in Chattanooga for 3 years.

Joanne Brown is retired from a teaching career of 26 years and serves alongside her husband, Dick, as second career missionaries. She loves cooking, hosting and mentoring Young Adult Singles and tries to stay ahead of all things technological at the church- including the church website. Richard (Dick) Brown is retired from a career that spanned 30 years in marketing and sales and now serves UCB with his wife, Joanne as second career missionaries. Together, they host the Young Adult Singles. Dick assists Pastor Andrew with administration responsibilities and serves as an Elder. He wants to write a book some day called, “All I Did on the Mission Field Was Dishes.”

Savannah Gorman is a graduate of Covenant College in Chattanooga, TN where she studied English and Children’s Literature. She interned at UCB for 2 years before returning as full-time staff in October 2018. Savannah loves her work, the students she ministers to and her life in Bogotá. She is a gifted vocalist, guitarist and pianist and often leads worship at the church.

Anna grew up as a missionary kid in Lima, Peru. After high school, she graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Covenant College, where she also met her husband, Eric. They sensed God leading them to ministry with missionary families. They are interning at UCB, ministering to families and their children growing up cross-culturally. They lead the University Student group.

Eric is the son of a pastor and was raised in Annapolis, Maryland. From a young age he was drawn towards missions. After graduating from Covenant College where he majored in Spanish, and marrying Anna, they were drawn to serving other missionary families. Eric and Anna are partnering with UCB in next generation ministry.

Kelly is from Memphis, TN and has an undergraduate degree in ESL and Spanish and served as a missionary in Asia teaching English after graduation for 3 years. After returning from Asia, she earned an MA in Counseling from Covenant Seminary. Kelly now runs the counseling center at the church serving the congregation in individual, family, and group counseling.

Andrew serves the church administratively, and also helps with Children’s Church, Middle School and High School Youth Group and Promise Kids on Saturday morning. You will often see Carlos at the front door on Sunday mornings, greeting attendees. Although he doesn’t speak English, when he sees a new English-speaking family approach the church, he immediately finds one of our English-speaking staff, assuring that everyone is welcomed when they attend church. Additionally Carlos does light and heavy construction and repairs around the church. He can do anything!
